Hello everyone! Today there is the summary of my stock purchases in June 2021. As usual, fewer investments were planned than it finally became. Nevertheless, I was able to increase my cash ratio, yeah! You can find out which stocks were (newly) added to my portfolio in the following blog post. Happy reading!
Stock purchases September 2021
As you may have read at the beginning, I finally managed to build up some more cash. With it I simply want to remain capable of acting. Nevertheless, I have of course invested a little, to be exact it was in June about 6.116 EUR.
Sibanye Stillwater
Directly on June 2nd I was active the first time at the various stock exchanges. This time I found what I was looking for in South Africa and put 100 shares of Sibanye Stillwater Ltd (SBSW) into my Captrader account at 20 USD per share. The order costs incl. fee were therefore 2.002 USD .
What does SBSW do? The Westonaria-based company is the world's largest producer of platinum and palladium. As a little treat on top also the third largest gold producer.
The price came back already bissl, so the entry was not quite optimal. But it does not always have to be. After all, I have time
A strong dividend increase is expected this year. And also in the next! The share has also been doing very well since March last year.
Pan American Silver
Der 2. Kauf im Juni ist quasi ein Nachkauf. Über den Optionshandel im Captrader* Depotwurden mir nämlich 100 Aktien von Pan American Silver (PAAS) angedient zu 30 USD je Aktie. Insgesamt also ein 3.000 USD. Dafür gab es noch einen realisierten Gewinn aus der Prämienzahlung von 51 USD.
The 2nd purchase in June is more or less a repeat purchase. Via options trading in the Captrader portfolio, I have no 100 shares of Pan American Silver (PAAS) at 30 USD per share. Altogether therefore a 3.000 USD. For this there was still a realized profit from the premium of 51 USD.
Until now, I already had 15 shares in my Degiro account and always wanted to increase the position. The decision was now taken from me via the tender and I'm satisfied. Now I have the opportunity to write covered calls on the 100 PAAS shares and thus generate further premiums.
My savings plans have been suspended for some time. But in June I started one again, initially with a somewhat larger entry of 1.000 EUR. For this I received 4,8871 shares of the iShares $ TIPS UCITS ETF into the Trade Republic account.
How much return should such a TIPS ETF bring me?
Ideally nothing! An instrument like TIPS is not designed to generate returns.
And what exactly are TIPS?
The whole thing stands for Treasury Inflation Protected Securities. These are bonds where the nominal value is adjusted for inflation. So for my 1.000 EUR, at 2% inflation, after one year it becomes 1.020 EUR in addition to the coupon payment. Of course, this goes the other way!
What do I expect from this?
Short and sweet inflation protection. You could also park some cash in TIPS in an inflationary phase.
BioNTech SE
Also my ‘virtual' Venture Depot has a new addition to announce. I have built up a first position in BioNTech (BNTX) and put 5 shares into my Captrader account at 226,90 USD per share. In total, the order amounted to 1.137 USD (incl. fees).
My broker(s)
I have several brokers for my stocks, but the majority are German ones, so European readers of my blog cannot register there.
